The aim of the course is to introduce students the major determinants and principles of EU Cohesion Policy, programming process and development of programming documents for EU Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) and operational framework of structural aid in the economic development of the regions in the EU. The main focus will be laid on the system of programming documents for regional development management, types of ESIF interventions and methodology of programming logic. The course also deals with a specific case study of programming documents in the Czech Republic during programming period 2007–2013 and 2014-2020. Systems of programming documents in selected EU countries are presented in seminars. Students will be also acquainted with the management of the programmes and implementation of structural actions. Emphasis is placed on specific ESIF programming documents in the Czech Republic in the current programming period and procedures for claiming financial assistance for projects co-financed by ESIF.
